Donate your hair and give the gift of pure love to someone who needs it
WHAT WE DO
Confident Locks™ headbands are made from soft and comfortable elastic and are designed to be worn underneath other headgear such as hats, scarves, turbans, head wraps, beanies, etc. The unique patented design gives patients a “real fringe” effect (hence our name!) that looks easy and natural.
WHY WE EXIST
They were created with the hopes of empowering anyone who has lowered self-confidence and self-esteem as a result of hair loss. We want to help patients discover a renewed sense of self-worth and normalcy. There’s not much we can do to reduce the physical challenges alopecia and cancer sufferers have to endure, so it is our hope through Real Fringe, we can make a real impact on the lives of these patients.
Help us spread the word and spread the love!
EMPOWERING YOU TO BE YOUR MOST AUTHENTIC SELF
We’ll create a comfortable headband with a fringe made of real hair (either your own or donated) so you can look in the mirror and know that…
… YOU’VE GOT THIS
CANCER
“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in; their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.” ~Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
ALOPECIA AREATA
For people with Alopecia Areata, hair loss can be emotionally difficult and often coincides with a loss of confidence. Many turn to itchy and uncomfortable wigs or choose to wear scarves and beanies, but still feel self-conscious about their hair loss as they go through their daily lives. For alopecia patients to be able to look in the mirror and see real human hair in their reflections, it can make a huge difference to self-confidence and body image.
“Beauty is how you feel inside, and it reflects in your eyes. It is not something physical.” ~Sophia Loren

How long does the hair have to be?
How is hair collected from a donor?
For hair donations, hair must be washed and dried prior to cutting. Your hairdresser needs to section the hair into a ponytail, or multiple ponytail bunches if the hair is very thick. Elastic bands are applied to the bunch of hair at the top closest to the head. The band needs to be quite tight to secure the hair during transport. The hair is then cut at least 1cm above the elastic band. The hair donation is then placed in a zip-lock bag and is mailed to:
